CALLING ALL TYPES OF FARMERS…….
talkbackTHAMES are currently developing a new television show helping farmers find a long term partner.
We are looking for single, male farmers of all shapes, sizes and ages, and from all regions who are finding it hard to find romance. We understand that the particular lifestyles of farmers, breeders, equestrians and others who work in rural professions do not easily lend themselves to love affairs. Long, hard and anti-social working hours combined with isolated locations and big distances to local towns can make it hard to meet people and we hope to help by introducing farmers to a range of interesting, fantastic women, with some of whom they may find that elusive spark.
But this is so much more than a dating show. We want to tell the story of these farmers and really get to know them. We want to educate people about the farming world and show what contemporary life in the country is like. It’s rural romance without the romanticising.
A version of the format that we are developing has been shown in countries across the world from Europe to America, to Australia, all to huge acclaim and success. Many marriages and even babies have resulted from these programmes.
To take part you need to be a farmer or a breeder, or indeed work in some other rural agricultural industry - for instance an equestrian centre or suchlike - and be finding it difficult to meet people. You need to be single, serious about finding a long term partner, and at ease in front of the camera.
talkbackTHAMES is one of the country’s largest independent production companies responsible for producing some of our most highly respected shows including such diverse titles as Grand Designs, Property Ladder, The Apprentice, Never Mind the Buzzcocks, the X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent.
Anyone applying to take part in the show can initially expect to have a short 15 minute telephone interview with a member of the production team. If they, and we, are interested in taking it further then a small team of 2 will come to their farm to do a taped interview on camera and may also take a few shots of the farmer at work. These are purely for research and will not be broadcast. This would take up no more than a couple of hours.
We are ultimately looking to choose 5 farmers who will then feature in a 6 part documentary series. This will involve filming them on their farms and in their daily lives, and also out on a series of dates organised by us, with a selection of women chosen by the men themselves.
If you, or if anyone you know, is interested in finding out more then please contact us for an informal initial chat with no obligation. Please call or email:
